Aircall, the leading cloud phone system, recently passed a major milestone: closing a $29M series B led by Draper Esprit. This new round of funding comes just a year and a half after their Series A ($8 Million with Balderton Capital in September of 2016) and confirms the huge potential on the digitalized phone systems for companies space that Aircall has pioneered since 2014.

Reinventing the Business Phone

When we launched the project in 2014, not many people would have bet on Aircall. The technology wasn’t as mature as it was today, and the call center industry seemed impossible to disrupt. Flash-forward 4 years and the team counts 70 members, 3000 customers and over $10M in yearly revenue.

Replacing outdated systems with a collaborative and efficient platform, Aircall aims to empower businesses to connect with their customers, partners, and employees in new and improved ways. Most recently, the company launched Aircall Now to enable voice calling within business messenger platforms, improving millions of monthly conversations.

From 0 to over 1M Daily Calls

After leaving the studio, Aircall was picked up by 500 Startups to take part in their 2015 Batch (Aircall is the first eFounders company to be taken by 500 Startups). Aircall raised a large $2.75M seed round, followed by a larger $8M series A with Bernard Liautaud, partner at Balderton Capital. To move its vision of the future of company phone systems, Aircall is now officially closing its series B with Draper Esprit leading the $29M round.

Based in Paris, Berlin, and New York, the team is rapidly growing and facing a host of new challenges to scale the business. Things haven’t always been that simple, and we’d like to tip our hats off to the founders for following their vision and putting everything in place to execute on it. Pierre Baptiste and Xavier made the whole thing possible by building a robust product and hiring an excellent team to keep improving it, Jonathan contributed massively to carving a share of the market for Aircall to emerge from, and Olivier brought pace and rigor to grow the company to where it is today.

What’s Next for Aircall

This new round of funding will fuel Aircall’s stratospheric growth on its vertical, allowing them to develop their vision further, faster. The platform has quickly grown from handling thousands of calls to millions of calls daily and is expanding to business teams worldwide. All open positions can be found on their careers page!
